Data Loading Survey Into Hadoop 2.0 - Douglas Liming, SAS Institute

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

What is the current state of loading “data” into Hadoop? What is the best way to load up Hadoop and feed the beast? How has Hadoop 2.0 changed the landscape of data movement and does YARN tie it all together? Taking a step beyond the command line -copylocalfile and we look at more than just Hive and HCatalog. Is the data affected at all? Why does the data appear to grow in size? What are the replication best practices around data movement and the modernization of the data lifecycle? This talk is a survey of data loading techniques and how Hadoop 2.0 impacts the modernization of data movement.
