This forum will demonstrate the power of Linux as a networking platform through a number of hands-on sessions. Linux has made great inroads and can be considered a full networking platform ready for wide scale deployment in production environments.

The day will be hosted and moderated by Cumulus Networks engineers and will cover a number of topics.

  • Recent enhancements to Linux networking that contribute to how easily Linux is consumable throughout customer environments: ONIE, ifupdown2 and related tools, overview and hands-on experience and demonstrations.
  • Update on the efforts currently underway and the plans to upstream and contribute: bridging, switch driver.
  • Presentations from customers currently running Linux as their networking platform and how they have achieved those deployments.

Participants will have the opportunity to test Linux as a networking platform first hand on industry standard networking hardware powered by Cumulus Linux operating system.
