Andrea Gallo is VP of Segments and Strategic Initiatives at Linaro, responsible for the activities from Arm-based cloud servers to edge computing and networking, IoT, smartphones and digital home, artificial intelligence. Former Director of the Linaro Enterprise Group, Andrea kick-started the open source collaborative efforts around Arm servers in 2012. Andrea joined Linaro in 2010 at its foundation as ST-Ericsson Fellow and representative in the Linaro technical board. Back in 2005 Andrea set up STMicroelectronics Linux teams in Noida and Bangalore working on smartphone application processors culminating in the first Android port on the Nomadik SoC with hw video acceleration in 2009. Andrea was group leader for the world first USB ADSL and PSTN softmodems in 1997-1999 and summer trainee at Arm (Acorn Computers) in July 1987 and 1988 working on the ARM2 chip.
